Manchester City midfielder Bernardo Silva does not believe the job is done, despite his side holding a 3-0 lead over Bayern Munich in the Champions League.

Silva was the architect of Rodri’s first-half belter that set the imperious Cityzens on their way to victory in the first leg of their quarter-final tie at the Etihad Stadium.

The mesmerising maestro, who was a handful for the German champions, then grabbed a deserved goal before Erling Braut Haaland sealed a near-insurmountable lead heading to Bavaria.

However, the 28-year-old has called on his side to ensure they finish off Thomas Tuchel’s side in the reverse encounter to keep their treble-winning dreams alive.

“It’s not over against Bayern,” Silva told the Guardian. “We’ve had a lot of experience that shows us what happens in the first game doesn’t matter.

“Against Real Madrid, everybody said it was over, and then in the last five minutes, everything changed.

“We’re one step closer to where we want to be, but we know that one game in this competition is not enough. If you blink for a second, you are out.”

Man City’s emphatic success over the Bundesliga champions took their winning streak to nine games across all competitions.

Their astonishing late-season form has buoyed their hope of racing to treble triumph this season, with one foot now in the Champions League semi-finals.

However, Pep Guardiola’s side will do well to heed the warnings of their Portuguese forward, with last season’s semi-final capitulation against Madrid fresh in their memory.

Looking to close the gap on title rivals Arsenal at the Premier League summit, the Cityzens will welcome relegation-battling Leicester City to Manchester this weekend.
