Bernardo Silva offered new Manchester City contract amid Saudi Arabia and PSG interest | OneFootball

Manchester City have offered Bernardo Silva a new deal in an attempt to prevent the midfielder from joining Saudi Arabia or Paris Saint-Germain.

The 28 year-old, who is contracted at the Etihad Stadium until 2025, is once again linked with a potential move away from Manchester City, with interest in the midfielder from Saudi Arabia and PSG.

Bernardo Silva has been mooted as the latest major European star to move to the Middle East, with a mouth-watering contract offer reportedly on the table from Saudi Arabia, as the Pro League continue their pursuit of Premier League signatures.

Ruben Neves, who plays alongside Silva for Portugal, last week completed a £47 million move to Al-Hilal, while fellow international teammate Cristiano Ronaldo plays for Al Nassr in the Saudi Pro League after moving from Manchester United.

Silva is also subject to interest from PSG, after the Parisians reportedly identified the 28 year-old as a replacement for Lionel Messi, who has moved to Inter Miami in the MLS.

The Manchester City midfielder has previously played in Ligue 1, having moved to the Etihad Stadium from AS Monaco in 2017 for £43 million.

Silva has made over 300 appearances and won 14 trophies with City during his six-years at the club to date, despite suggestions of an exit last summer, amid interest from Barcelona and also PSG.

PSG made a late €70 million bid for the midfielder last August, however City rejected the offer but promised not to block a transfer this summer, according to Duncan Castles.

In an attempt to counteract interest in the 28 year-old this summer, The Times report that Manchester City have offered to improve the midfielder’s contract.

City have already lost club captain Ilkay Gundogan on a free transfer and despite closing in on the signature of Mateo Kovacic, Pep Guardiola is undoubtedly keen to retain Silva next season.

The Portuguese international played a key role in City winning their maiden Champions League title, scoring twice against Real Madrid in the semi-final second-leg at the Etihad Stadium.
