Bernardo Silva says he’s immensely proud after Manchester City became the first men’s team in English football history to win four straight top-flight titles.

A 3-1 win over West Ham on the final day of the 2023/24 season sealed the historic triumph and with it, the Club’s 10th first division crown.

Once again, Bernardo was Pep Guardiola’s side’s man for all seasons this term, making 33 league appearances – scoring six goals and registering nine assists.

City were certainly pushed all the way by Liverpool and Arsenal this term, with the Blues prevailing on the final day.

And Bernardo explained how our attention to detail helped us over the line.

“Definitely [feels tougher with Arsenal and Liverpool pushing us] the margins are so small,” he expressed.

“Liverpool in two seasons we beat them to the title by a point and now with Arsenal it’s two points and we’ve been lucky enough to have these small margins.

“To be in front of them and the achievement is unbelievable, four in a row, we’re so proud and so happy.”

“All of them [are special], but the first one is always the most special, obviously winning four in a row is something that nobody has ever done before, it’s unbelievable.”

After winning the Treble in 2022/23, City welcomed Mateo Kovacic, Josko Gvardiol, Matheus Nunes and Jemery Doku to the Club while a number of senior players departed for pastures new.

And Bernardo says the high standards set by senior members of our squad drive us to major honours.

He added: “I think the way this team is built, the way they choose and sign players, they know that if everyone works hard, we’re a step closer to winning [trophies].

“[As] senior players, we need to make sure that the new players feel the same way that I felt when I came to the Club.

“When Fernandinho, Vinny Kompany, David Silva, Aguero, they made sure that I gave my all, we’ve got to make sure that the new players feel the same way, in this team it’s unacceptable to not work hard and to not give 100% and that’s what we do every game.”
