Former AC Milan president Silvio Berlusconi has admitted to telling off the Rossoneri squad after they beat Inter 6-0 back in 2001.
It was 19 years ago when, on May 11, the Rossoneri destroyed their bitter rivals at San Siro. Gianni Comandini gave Milan a second minute lead and 15 minutes after that he made it 2-0.
Giunti scored the third with a free-kick before an Andriy Shevchenko brace, and Serginho added the final goal. The game has become famous for an Inter fan running onto the pitch and begging Costacurta to put a stop to the destruction.
At the end of the game between Monza and Lecco which the home side won 4-0, Berlusconi discussed that particular game as well as Milan’s January window, and his words were transcribed by MilanNews.it.
“It is fair that we did not go beyond 4-0, I scolded the players of the Milan when they made the 6-0 against Inter, you can’t humiliate the opposing team, it’s not sporting,” he said.
On Wednesday night it was confirmed that Suso will join Sevilla on an 18-month loan with an option to buy, which will turn into an obligation if certain conditions are met.
“Suso ? I’m sorry he was sold, in my opinion a mistake was made in letting him go. I knew too late, otherwise I wouldn’t have let it slip for Monza,” Berlusconi added.
“If Ibrahimovic’s return to Milan convinces me? Forget it, I think about Monza.”
