It was the home side who got off to the brighter start as Patson Daka went close early on, sliding in to connect with a James Maddison cross but just missing the ball from five yards.

Spurs managed to wrestle back some control and almost took the lead when Harry Kane burst through and hit a low effort that was blocked spectacularly.

Kane then went even closer on 18 minutes as his header from a corner rattled off the crossbar.

Antonio Conte’s side were pushing now and thought they’d scored soon after as Davinson Sanchez’s header rippled the net – unfortunately it was the wrong side.

But against the run of play the hosts took the lead as Daka latched on to a loose ball and chipped the ball over Hugo Llloris.

Tottenham weren’t behind for long though and got their equaliser just before half time as Kane finished well to level things up.

Into the second half and Conte’s side pushed hard for their second as Japhet Tanganga stung Kasper Schmeichel’s gloves with a long-range effort.

Leicester struck against the run of play again however as Maddison slalomed through and finished from close range.

But right at the death Bergwijn latched on to a cross to equalise and then with the very last kick of the game rounded Schmeichel for the winner.
