CHARLOTTE - Ahead of Inter vs. Fluminese, Thomas Berenbruch, the 2005-born midfielder, spoke in the interviews. He is a key player in the Primavera team, and he has 32 appearances and 12 goals in the U20s season.

It has been an unforgettable year for the talented midfielder, ending in winning the Primavera league: throughout the year, Berenbruch also made his debut with the first team, playing six minutes against Feyenoord in the Champions League and one minute against AC Milan in Coppa Italia. These are the words of the 2005-born player ahead of the game against the Brazilians in Fluminese:

What sort of experience is this for you young people at the Club World Cup? "Being here is definitely a pleasure, as it was with the first team for the rest of the year. For us coming from the Primavera it is a great opportunity: we are happy to be here with a boss that we know well and who trained us in the past".

You made your Champions League debut: do you hope to play in the Club World Cup? "I think about this all the time, every game is an opportunity, and for this reason everyone one of us hopes that games go in the right way so we can play. As always, however, the boss decides depending on the situation".

The boss said that the energy of the young players helps the team keep a very high level, also in training: do you feel this responsibility? "I can definitely say that us young people give us spirit. We have few training sessions to show our worth, therefore giving our all is key and for us it is a must. We already do it for the Primavera, and it's an even better reason to do it with these champions".

Lautaro often gives you advice, what can you say about this? "Him and many others: in these days us boys have been talking and we are realising that we are in a very cohesive group, which has a great sense of belonging. For us it is always a pleasure to be with this team".

Compared to the youth team, how has Chivu changed today? "For me seeing these first days, not much has changed, he has always been enthusiastic and has managed to pass on that fire he has inside. This is the thing he left with me two years ago, now I have perfectly found it again".

How much of an inspiration is the fact that two 2005-born boys have been decisive in the last two games? "This makes many things clear: all of us are trying to make the most of this opportunity, both in training and if we are called into action during games. Pio and Vale were ready, for me and the others it is a great inspiration because we can aspire towards these sorts of things: we believe in ourselves".
