West Ham United clashed heads with Nottingham Forest at the City Ground earlier today as they hoped to earn maximum points on their travels. The Hammers failed to take any of their chances in the first half and got punished in injury time when Taiwo Awoniyi scored from close range. The East London club went into the half-time break 1-0 down on the scoreline.

Declan Rice missed a penalty in the second half as David Moyes’ men ended up suffering a 1-0 loss away from home.

The Hammers goalie made a few important saves at the back but will be disappointed after conceding a goal so late in the first half.

Coufal earned the ball back a couple of times but failed to create anything meaningful in the opponent’s half.

CB: Kurt Zouma – 7/10

Zouma was a rock at the back but couldn’t do much about Awoniyi’s goal in the dying embers of the first half.

LB: Aaron Cresswell – 7/10

Cresswell was caught out of position at times inside his half but deserves credit for creating multiple chances for his teammates.

CM: Declan Rice – 5/10

The English talent missed a crucial penalty in the second half which ultimately cost his team a result.

RW: Jarrod Bowen – 6/10

Benrahma was by far West Ham’s best player on the pitch. He had a goal chalked off in the first half but continued to cause problems in the second.

LW: Pablo Fornals – 7/10

The Spaniard had a few bright moments in the game but there was no goal for him today.

ST: Michail Antonio – 6.5/10

Substitutes:

LW: Manuel Lanzini – 6/10

He offered very little after coming off the bench.

ST: Gianluca Scamacca – 6/10

Scamacca hardly got a sniff at goal.

ST: Maxwel Cornet – N/A

He didn’t get enough minutes to warrant a rating.
