Bengaluru FC ensured that they were crowned winners of the inaugural edition of the Reliance Foundation Development League (RFDL) after they played out a goalless draw with Kerala Blasters FC in the title-decider on Thursday, 12 May.

Bengaluru needed to ensure that they avoided defeat against Kerala on the night in order to clinch the crown, and the draw mean that the Blues ended their campaign as the only undefeated side of the competition with 19 points to their name.

"I would like to thank Reliance for this wonderful platform. All the teams were very competitive. This tournament really helped us get some competitive games for us to understand the level of the players. It's also a good platform for even the coaches," Bengaluru FC coach Naushad Moosa said after the game.

"I would like to congratulate Kerala, the way they played. They were the best team. I am proud of the boys, the way they played throughout the tournament," he added.

Bengaluru striker, Rahul Raju won the Golden Boot award after scoring seven goals during the competition, while while midfielder, Bekey Oram was awarded the Golden Ball for the player of the tournament. Kerala's Sachin Suresh won the Golden Glove for his exploits under the bar, keeping six clean sheets.
