Benfica have expressed interest in signing Liverpool midfielder Harry Wilson.
The Welshman spent last season on loan at Cardiff and chipped in with seven goals and 11 assists to help his side finish 8th in the Championship.
It remains to be seen whether he will return to Anfield next season and be a part of Jurgen Klopp's plans, but the 24-year-old will have options even if his future is not at Liverpool.
The Athletic reports Benfica have made an official approach to sign Wilson, and while talks have broken down over Liverpool's £13m valuation, it's expected the Portuguese club will come back with an improved offer.
Liverpool rejected a bid from Burnley of £11m for Wilson last summer, and believe they can get a higher fee now after his successful loan spell at Cardiff.
