Benfica have confirmed the signing of 18-year-old midfielder Andreas Schjelderup from Danish side FC Nordsjælland on Thursday.
The teenager is said to be one of Norway’s most exciting midfield prospects and had accumulated over 50 appearances for the Superliga club before making the jump to Lisbon for a reported fee of €10 million, potentially rising to €15 million.

Schjelderup has registered a superb tally of 17 goals and five assists in 56 games in Denmark, catapulting him to become one of the continent’s hottest prospects.
Benfica have reportedly beaten some of Europe’s top clubs to the youngster’s signature, including Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool.
