Benevento coach Filippo Inzaghi was left delighted with his players after their shock 1-0 win at Juventus.

Adolfo Gaich struck the winner in Turin.

"We knew what our path was. I told the guys we could earn points in Turin," Inzaghi told Sky Italia.

Benevento had won their last game in January before today's 1-0 against Juventus in Turin.

"We received a lot of criticism of late, but we made a record in Serie B, and I'd like people to see how complicated that league is," Inzaghi continued.

"These are extraordinary guys. Before the game, I told them that I would thank them for life. I had already prepared the speech for defeat, I am superstitious, and I have to be rational," he added.

"It won't happen many times to gain earn four points against Juventus," the coach continued.

"I don't look at the last two-three games. We were not ourselves. We lost to Inter, but it can happen. The environment had lost a sense of reality lately.

"At the beginning of the season, we would have been happy to be where we are now."
