Torino right-back Raoul Bellanova has attracted interest from big clubs including the Premier League, revealing he sees ‘similarities’ with Manchester City star Kyle Walker.

The Italy international turns 24 next month, but is already well-travelled, having come through the Milan academy before experiences at Girondins de Bordeaux, Atalanta, Pescara, Cagliari, Inter and now Torino.

He contributed one goal and six assists in 30 Serie A appearances for the Granata this season and is gearing up for the Derby della Mole against bitter rivals Juventus this weekend.

“I was an Inter fan growing up and always used to watch Maicon, though we are not very similar in our characteristics,” Bellanova told DAZN.

“As the years went on, I started to take inspiration from Manchester City right-back Kyle Walker. I can see myself in him, we have the same sort of physical and technical qualities.”

Bellanova was launched as a substitute in the Champions League Final defeat to Manchester City last season, ultimately losing the trophy in a tight 1-0 game.

“I have to thank Simone Inzaghi, because not everyone would play a young lad in a Champions League Final. It was a huge opportunity.”

Nonetheless, Inter did not buy him outright from Cagliari, so he was instead sold to Torino for €7m last summer and flourished with regular playing time.

“That was the final step I had to make and it was the right decision to go our separate ways. I wanted more playing time and the chance to prove myself, while Inter are doing so well this season too. It was the right choice for both of us.”
