ANFIELD WATCH VERDICT

Kana has had an impressive start to his career so far, with 22 first-team appearances for Anderlecht already despite only turning 18 back in August. He has established himself as a regular option at senior level at such a young age, which suggests that he has plenty of potential and is showing the coaches that he has maturity beyond his years. The youngster has also shown that he can be versatile, as he has played at both centre-back and holding midfield for Anderlecht – with most of his appearances coming at centre-back last season and all of them being in midfield this term.

Whether or not he will ever be good enough to play for Liverpool remains to be seen, but playing regular football at his age could be a huge boost for his development as he is gaining valuable experience. He has also been capped at various age ranges, up to under-21’s, by his country – showing that the coaches at national level also see something in him.

Irrespective of whether or not it is achievable for him or not, Kana is showing that he has a good head on his shoulders by plotting out a potential career path for himself. Despite only being 18, he is already thinking about what his next move could be and where he could then progress on from that. This gives him a target to aim for and something to strive towards in the coming years.
