Belgium coach Roberto Martinez has said that Romelu Lukaku has found his smile now that he is back at Inter rather than Chelsea, according to a report in the Belgian print media.
Speaking during an interview with Het Laatste Nieuws in Belgium, the coach spoke glowingly about the striker who is one of the stars of his team and who he hopes will score plenty of goals at the World Cup in November.
He explained how the Belgian is the type of player who plays with his heart and he had lost his connection to Chelsea as a club when he stopped getting along with the head coach Thomas Tuchel.
“Romelu is a player who plays with his heart, he needs love to do well. At Chelsea he felt no connection with the environment, it was difficult for him to enter a dressing room that had just won the Champions League.”
He then added that the striker has found his smile again now that he has returned to Inter on a loan deal until the end of the season when both clubs are likely to try and make the transfer permanent.
“Now he smiles at Inter, I see he is really happy: it is in these conditions that Romelu’s best football comes out.”
