The Netherlands women’s team are currently ranked number eight in the world, above Brazil and Norway. During the 2019 tournament in France they made the final, losing to a strong USA side 2-0 in Lyon.

The Belgium national team, known as the Red Flames, are ten places lower than their neighbours. The side are gradually improving, having made the quarter-finals at the 2022 European championships. However, they are yet to qualify for a World Cup. Despite having the top-scorer in qualification in Tessa Wullaert, who scored 17 goals, they lost 2-1 to Portugal in the play-offs.
