Burnley striker Ashley Barnes has been linked with Swansea City after Michael Obafemi moved from South Wales to Turf Moor.
Obafemi left the Swans to sign for the Championship leaders recently but there is talk of another deal between the pair before the end of the month.
Mike McGrath from The Telegraph has reported that Barnes has been identified as a potential target as Russell Martin looks to add more forward firepower.
The 33-year-old is out of contract in the summer and has plenty of competition following the arrivals of Obafemi and Lyle Foster this month.
But Clarets boss Vincent Kompany has played down suggestions that Barnes could leave Turf Moor this month and FLW’s Burnley fan pundit Ben Livingstone made his stance clear.
“I don’t think Ashley Barnes will leave this window,” he said. “I think he’ll stick it out until the end of his contract.
“I think he’s been fantastic for us since that Blackburn Rovers game in all fairness. Been probably our best striker by quite a considerable amount.”

He added: “I think he’ll stay. I don’t think he’ll go to Swansea. I think he’ll stay and then get a move in the summer.
“He’d be good for pretty much any Championship club that came in for him. His wages would be a bit high but if he lowered his demands a little bit I think a lot of teams would be interested in the summer.
“It would be a good move for teams to get him on a free in the summer.”
