Nedum Onuoha has heaped praise on Crysencio Summerville after he scored the winner in Leeds United’s 4-3 victory over Bournemouth on Saturday.
Jesse Marsch’s side made a promising start, taking the lead within the first three minutes of the game. Rodrigo Moreno struck the opener from the penalty spot after Marcos Senesi brought down Summerville.
But the visitors responded as Marcus Tavernier and Philip Billing scored to turn the game on its head.
After Dominic Solanke’s 48th-minute goal, the Whites looked close to another humiliating home defeat. However, in a remarkable comeback, the west Yorkshire outfit hit back with two goals in eight minutes to restore parity.
And Summerville once again created headlines by firing the winner with six minutes remaining following a great pass by substitute Wilfried Gnonto.
Former Manchester City defender Onuoha was highly impressed with the 21-year-old and praised him after the match.
He told BBC Sport: “What a comeback! You can see that Summerville making the run behind and thinking is the ball going to him?
“He gets dispatched, goes one v one and slams the ball into the top corner. Absolutely incredible finish. Feels like this is what Leeds deserve.”
Summerville is making great progress
Summerville joined Leeds United in 2020 and has since made 19 senior appearances for the club.
The Dutch footballer struck a superb goal last week to help the Whites claim a spectacular 2-1 win at Liverpool.
He impressed again in the home encounter against Bournemouth, showing great composure and precision to fire the late winner.
On the back of this performance, Summerville is expected to be given more first-team opportunities by Marsch.
