Joshua Kimmich and Jérôme Boateng were involved in a heated exchange with each other during Bayern Munich’s 6-1 win over Werder Bremen on Saturday.
The off-the-ball incident was captured by Bild, who published an image of the two Germany internationals locked in a head-t0-head altercation as David Alaba rushed in to act as peacemaker.
Kimmich, who is known for his emotional outbursts, declined to comment on the incident.
Boateng, who picked up a yellow card before the row with his team-mate, was replaced at half-time by Ivan Perišić.
Bild placed the blame for the exchange on Kimmich’s shoulders, suggesting that 24-year-old should have shown more respect for his more experienced and decorated colleague.
