Julian Nagelsmann has said that while Bayern Munich is his ‘dream’ job, he would not have had any complaints if he had stayed in charge at RB Leipzig.

So impressed were Säbener Strasse by the Bavarian native’s work at Leipzig and Hoffenheim, they shelled out a world record managerial transfer fee of €25m to get their man.

Speaking to DAZN about the summer move, Nagelsmann insisted he had no intention of forcing his previous employer’s hand when in came to negotiations.

“I wouldn’t have been angry with anyone if I had been allowed to stay in Leipzig,” he said.

“I had a great team and a very good connection with the coaching team. We had an incredibly good spirit. There would have been much worse things than staying there.”
