Bayern Munich are set to sign winger Bryan Zaragoza from Girona, according to reports in Spain and Germany.

After initial rumours from El Chiringuito, Sky Germany have confirmed the Bundesliga champions are “on the verge” of sealing a deal for the 22-year-old, adding that he has already undergone parts of his medical.

Zaragoza has been one of the stars of Girona’s shock title challenge so far. The winger has five goals and three assists in LaLiga this season, with the team sitting second in the table, level on points with leaders Real Madrid.

That fine form saw Zaragoza rewarded with a first Spain cap back in October and a move to one of Europe’s biggest clubs is now on the cards.

Thanks to a release clause in his Girona contract, Bayern are set to pay a transfer fee of just €15m before loaning the player back to Girona until the end of the season.
