According to Kicker, as cited by Fussball Transfers, Greuther Furth are eyeing a move for Adrian Fein. The Bayern Munich midfielder has no shortage of suitors, despite a disappointing loan spell at PSV Eindhoven. It is also believed that both the player and the club want a permanent solution rather than another loan spell, putting Furth on red alert.

Adrian Fein’s Struggles At FC Bayern

A native of Munich, Adrian Fein initially started his youth career at 1860 Munich before switching to Bayern Munich in 2006 at the age of seven. He has since worked his way up to the top, before earning a promotion to the senior side in the summer of 2019.

Fein was hugely tipped to make his breakthrough in the senior side. However, the presence of too much competition saw him join Hamburger SV on a season-long loan deal. He ended up featuring in 31 appearances in 2.Bundesliga but wasn’t able to help Die Rothosen gain promotion to the top-flight.

Last summer, Fein joined a bigger club on loan in PSV but endured a difficult season in which he mustered only 404 minutes of league football. His struggles in establishing himself as a starter in the Eredivisie has raised question marks over his quality and his future at FC Bayern.

The 22-year-old, nonetheless, has a lot of admirers including the newly promoted Bundesliga outfit Greuther Furth along with a few second division clubs. They are convinced of Fein’s technical prowess and composure which could make him an asset for any lower-tier club.

Should Bayern Munich Cash In On Fein?

Change of managers often leads to a change of fortunes for some players more than others. For Bayern Munich, the arrival of Julian Nagelsman is set to bring about many changes in regards to tactics and roster.

Unfortunately, Fein is not among the players expected to be favoured by the former RB Leipzig boss. The young tactician already has a lot of options in the midfield unit in Leon Goretzka, Joshua Kimmich and Marc Roca while young players like Christopher Scott, Sarpreet Singh and Taylor Booth are hoping to earn a prominent place in the senior side next season.

It leaves Fein in a precarious position, and a move away from Allianz Arena seems like the best option. The youngster could be an excellent fit for a newly promoted club like Greuther Furth.

Stefan Leitl’s team has already helped a host of young players including another ex-Bayern prodigy Julian Green revive their careers and Fein will be hoping to be the next player making his mark in the Bundesliga.
