Bayern Munich's shock 3-0 defeat at the hands of Feyenoord last week seriously damaged their chances of finishing in the top eight of the Champions League table and progressing straight to the round of 16.
Vincent Kompany's men are now 15th on 12 points and will need a big win to improve their goal difference and other results to go their way if they are to secure a top-eight finish.
On the bright side for Bayern, they'll be at home to Slovan Bratislava, one of only two teams yet to pick up a point in this year's Champions League.
Bayern got back to winning ways at the weekend with a hard-fought 2-1 win over Freiburg. Slovan Bratislava, meanwhile, haven't played since last week's 1-3 defeat to Stuttgart, with the Slovakian league not due to resume until February.
In terms of absentees, Bayern will be without Alphonso Davies (hamstring), Leon Goretzka (suspended), Hiroki Ito (metatarsal), Daniel Peretz (kidney) and Sven Ulreich (suspended).
Dayot Upamecano is a doubt after missing the weekend win over Freiburg, with Eric Dier ready to step in again if required.
Danylo Ignatenko (muscle) and Juraj Kucka (meniscus) are both out for Slovan Bratislava, while Vladimir Weiss (illness) is a big doubt.
