Bayern Munich Ultras call for boycott over ticket prices

Bayern Munich fans have to pay a reported €52 for tickets for their game against Shakhtar Donetsk in the Champions League in December. Although an ‘away’ game, the game will be played at Schalke 04’s Veltins Arena which is used for Shakhtar’s home games in the Champions League due to the ongoing Russia-Ukraine conflict.

Because of the high dynamic pricing, Bayern Munich will be without their hardcore fans for the game on December 10th. The active fan scene have also called for other fans to boycott the tie. The €52 is twice as much that fans paid for the away game against Atalanta on MD2.

A statement released by Südkurve München read: “Don’t let yourself be fooled and boycott the away game at Shakhtar Donetsk. For fair pricing – against top game surcharges!”

As reported by kicker, Shakhtar Donetsk have opted for dynamic pricing to tickets, meaning that if there’s a high demand as the allocation decreases, fans will pay an increased amount.
