Bayern Munich will intensify their efforts to sign West Ham’s Declan Rice (24) with Arsenal also courting the England midfielder, according to Sky Germany.

Rice remains high on Bayern’s shortlist as they search the market for a new No. 6, even with their new recruitment team, which includes Uli Hoeneß, Karl-Heinz Rummenigge, Jan-Christian Dreesen, Tuchel, CFO Dr. Michael Diederich, following the dismissal of Hasan Salihamidžić and Oliver Kahn.

Per Florian Plettenberg, there was a phone call between Thomas Tuchel and Rice a few days ago and the player is open to joining Bayern Munich, who secured their 11th consecutive Bundesliga title at the weekend.

The Rekordmeister would also be willing to pay the entire package to sign Rice, which should be just below €100m, but face competition from Arsenal, who finished runners-up to Manchester City, and are further along in their pursuit of Rice.

Other candidates as Bayern search the market for a partner to Joshua Kimmich included Mateo Kovacic (Chelsea), Marco Verratti (PSG) and Adrian Rabiot (Juventus), but nothing was pursued.
