Robert Lewandowski believes he still has “at least another four years” as a top level striker.
Lewandowski turns 31 next month but after bagging 40 goals in all competitions last season, the Bayern Munich hit-man is showing no signs of slowing down.
And the worrying thing for Bundesliga defenders is that the Pole feels he still has plenty more left in the tank.
“I want to play for at least another four years,” Lewandowski told the official Bundesliga website.
“I don’t feel like I’m about to turn 31.
“I’ll try to make the most of my time, and that means keeping myself in the best shape possible.”
Lewandowksi – who is currently in the United States gearing up for the new season with Bayern – has managed at least 43 appearances across all competitions in every season since he arrived in Germany in 2013.
And with the help of his nutritionist wife Anna, the former Borussia Dortmund man is hoping he will be able to maintain his superhuman stamina in the coming years.
“A football career doesn’t last that long,” he added.
“Everything I do should help me to keep playing.”
