Barcelona and Bayern Munich are two of the teams expected to be the most active during this upcoming summer transfer window.

The former will be looking to sign players to finally complete their team overhaul and sign a few players in some positions that are desperately crying out of loud for reinforcements, including holding midfield, left-wing, and possibly even central midfield.

For the Bavarian outfit, though, it will be a more swift window, with several important players expected to leave the club, including Joshua Kimmich and Alphonso Davies.

And as they target replacements, Bayern have continued keeping tabs on one Barcelona midfielder, who has been linked with an exit several times over the last few months.

De Jong considered a big solution

According to a report published by Florian Plettenberg, Bayern Munich are still keeping tabs on Barcelona midfielder Frenkie de Jong. They have had the player on their radar for a while, and have not lost sight of him for the upcoming window.

They consider him an ideal solution to their midfield problems, especially with Joshua Kimmich edging closer to an exit in the summer.

Bayern are keeping an eye on de Jong’s situation at Barcelona, but the topic is not hot right now for either party. De Jong’s high salary could be an obstacle for the Bavarians in this transfer pursuit.

He picked up an injury against Real Madrid yesterday and is ruled out for the rest of the season.

Barcelona ready to sell de Jong

According to recent reports, Barcelona will try to negotiate a new contract with Frenkie de Jong with a much lower salary. However, should he disagree to agree to the club’s terms, they are ready to sell him in the summer.

De Jong’s contract sees his salary increase every year, and he will be on a much higher salary next season than he is on right now.

Despite that, though, it seems the Dutchman has a lot of admirers in the Premier League and of course, Bayern Munich.
