Bayern Munich star Joshua Kimmich remains interested in a potential future move to La Liga giants Barcelona.
That’s according to German football insider Christian Falk, who has on Friday provided the latest on the future of the versatile midfielder.
Kimmich’s name, of course, has long proven a prominent one in Catalunya’s capital.
This comes with the 29-year-old held in high regard by both previous Barcelona headmaster Xavi, and current boss Hansi Flick.
The latter, in fact, has previously taken charge of Kimmich at both club and international level.
Still widely considered as one of the standout midfielders in the game, it should in turn come as little surprise to hear that the German international remains on the wishlist at the Camp Nou.
As per a report from the aforementioned Christian Falk, speaking on the Daily Briefing:
‘Kimmich is certainly open to hearing offers, potentially from other clubs like Barcelona. Hansi Flick, also a former coach at Bayern Munich, is interested.’
It is also noted, though, that the competition for Kimmich’s signature is beginning to mount, with Premier League champions Manchester City more than keen, too.
The versatile engine room standout is due to see his current terms with Bayern Munich expire next summer.
