Bayern Munich star Jamal Musiala is doing all he can to recover fitness in time to play his part in the club’s upcoming meeting with Barcelona.

That’s according to German football insider Kerry Hau, who has on Friday provided an insight into the latest developments behind the scenes in Munich.

Musiala, for his part, has spent the last two weeks on the sidelines with a hip injury.

After sitting out Bayern Munich’s most recent outing against Eintracht Frankfurt, the 21-year-old was also deemed not well enough to feature in Germany’s Nations League fixtures against Bosnia and Herzegovina, and The Netherlands.

Musiala earlier this week managed a return to the grass, but is yet to be given the green light to rejoin Vincent Kompany’s squad in group training.

As per the aforementioned Kerry Hau, on Friday, the midfielder ramped things up once more, courtesy of ‘a short session with the ball,’ followed by ‘intensive sprints’.

Nevertheless, Musiala is not expected to be passed fit to face Stuttgart this weekend.

Instead, the player has set his sights on next Wednesday’s Champions League showdown with the aforementioned Barcelona, in Catalunya’s capital.
