The international break was eventful for the French players from Bayern Munich. Michael Olise and Dayot Upamecano endured disappointment in the first leg of the Nations League quarter-final against Croatia. However, both players made big contributions in the return leg to seal France’s spot in the semi-final.

Olise was specifically very good against Croatia on Sunday. The 23-year-old scored one goal and provided the assist for the other to help France level the tie. He was delightful to watch during his stay on the pitch.

The former Crystal Palace winger had to wait sometime to play regularly for the French national team. The move to Bayern Munich has worked well for Olise. He has been the best wide player at the club this season, which has ensured that Didier Deschamps has consistently included him in the French squad.

While talking to the media on Sunday (via iMiaSanMia), Deschamps heaped praise on Olise. The French coach insisted that Olise has now built a good relationship with other attacking players and more is to come from him in the national colours.

"He has a lot of qualities and has progressed a lot. He was brilliant against Croatia. But he has established a relationship with the front three. I’m happy for him. This suggests more to come. He will gain confidence. "Didier Deschamps

Tchouameni was not surprised by Olise's performance against Croatia

Real Madrid midfielder Aurelien Tchouameni had no doubts about Olise coming good for France. He insisted that it was a matter of time before Olise shone on the pitch after working hard consistently on the training pitch.

Bayern bosses are also pleased with the way Olise has seamlessly adapted to the new club and league. The French forward is on track to have 30 goals and assists in his debut season at Bayern. The Bavarian faithful will hope Olise will carry the momentum from the international break in the final phase of the season. The upcoming Champions League games against Inter Milan will be a significant test to pass for Olise as the Italian club is defensively rigid, giving very little space and time for forwards to work in the final third.

After seeing how successful Olise has been on the pitch, Bayern are looking to add another young winger to the squad in the summer. They have a concrete interest in Borussia Dortmund star Jamie Gittens, while Bayern scouts have consistently kept tabs on Athletic Bilbao winger Nico Williams.

The Bavarian club also holds an interest in Southampton’s Tyler Dibbling. Die Roten are looking to sign a young winger, and Florian Wirtz from Bayer Leverkusen in the summer. They are also exploring the striker market to find a backup option for Harry Kane.
