Bayern Munich have returned to Stade Rennais with an improved offer for Désiré Doué (19) according to an update by L’Équipe and RMC Sport.
The Bundesliga side had originally offered €35 million with bonuses included, a bid that was hastily rejected as falling far below Rennes evaluation for their young star. Bayern Munich’s new offer is reported to be above €40 million with RMC Sport specifying that it is €55 million with bonuses.
The race for the teenager is beginning to heat up with PSG also thought to have submitted a bid last Tuesday which Foot Mercato reported to be valued at €40 million plus €10 million in bonuses. However, the French champions will return with an improved bid.
Rennes are thought to be hopeful that they can secure a similar price to that of Jérémy Doku (22) who they sold to Manchester City last summer for €60 million. The fact that Premier League clubs like Chelsea, Tottenham, and Arsenal are all thought to be circling the waters could mean that Rennes will eventually achieve their evaluation.
