That’s some statement from adidas and Bayern Munich as the club have unveiled their new third kit. But it’s true, with the kit representing Bavaria’s mountainous landscape.

“Inspired by the mountain silhouette in the Munich area, the design of the new jersey is in the white and blue colour scheme of Bavarian culture with a strong connection to the home of the record champions symbolised in an eye-catching print,” a press release declared.

“The accents on the sleeves and the collar are dark blue. The three stripes on the shoulder, the logo and the number on the back stand out due to their red colour on the jersey. The sponsors are kept in the same colour and the typical club lettering “Mia san mia” adorns the neck area.”

The kit will be used for the first time when the club face Borussia Dortmund in the DFL Supercup on Tuesday evening.
