Alphonso Davies remains one of the most sought-after players in world football, with his current contract at Bayern Munich set to expire in the summer of 2025.
According to recent reports from Mario Cortegana in The Athletic, Bayern are still not ruling out the possibility of the Canadian left-back extending his stay at the club.
However, uncertainty around his future continues to attract attention from Real Madrid, who have been keeping tabs on Davies since September.
It is to be noted that Real Madrid initially aimed to secure Davies’ services during the last transfer window but later decided to shift their strategy. The club is reportedly waiting for an opportunity to sign him on a free transfer when his contract ends.
Ultimately, this cautious approach temporarily pushed Davies closer to agreeing to an extension with Bayern.
An agreement in principle was even reached earlier this year. However, Bayern’s board delayed finalising the deal due to concerns about the defender’s performance at the time.

Despite this, Bayern Munich are actively working to keep Davies beyond 2025. The club is reportedly seeking a meeting with the player’s representatives to revisit contract negotiations.
Recent developments suggest that Davies is now more open to adjusting his salary demands, which has reignited discussions about a potential renewal.
This shift in attitude signals a willingness to cooperate with the Bundesliga giants, but doubts remain about whether a final agreement will be reached.
Real Madrid, on the other hand, remain interested in taking advantage of the situation. They are closely monitoring Davies’ ongoing negotiations with Bayern, hoping to make a move if talks falter.
While Bayern are pushing to secure Davies’ future, Madrid see this as an opportunity to strengthen their squad with a world-class talent.
As it stands, Davies’ future is still undecided, and the coming months will be crucial in determining whether he stays at Bayern Munich or embarks on a new journey with Real Madrid.
