Bayern Munich are preparing an opening offer for Stuttgart striker Nick Woltemade.

Negotiations over the transfer of the forward are set to step up this week following the conclusion of the u-21 European Championship.

Woltemade enhanced his reputation with a brilliant tournament, scoring six times for finalists Germany to win the Golden Boot. He also led the u-21 Euros for assists, with three.

Woltemade’s performances have attracted interest from across Europe but it’s Bayern who lead the race. Personal terms have been agreed with the 23-year-old, who has informed Stuttgart that he only wants to join Bayern.

However, Stuttgart are reluctant to lose Woltemade, who is contracted at the club until 2028.

The 6ft 6in forward joined Stuttgart on a free transfer from Werder Bremen last summer and scored 17 goals in all competitions in 2024/25. He was the leading scorer in the DFB-Pokal as Stuttgart won the German Cup.

Stuttgart have reportedly set an initial asking price of €100m (£85.4m), according to German outlet Kicker, in a bid to dissuade interest from Bayern.
