With the return of the Champions League on the horizon, Bayern Munich are doing everything in the hope of securing an historic treble.
Having already won the Bundesliga and DFB Pokal, the German giants are just four games from adding the Champions League to their 2019/20 collection.
However, they may be at a slight disadvantage.
While other leagues around Europe are still ongoing, Bayern’s domestic campaign ended almost two weeks ago.
With ring-rust a real risk before their last 16 second leg with Chelsea, Bayern are now looking to host a friendly on 31 July, a week before the Champions League clash, to shake off any cobwebs.
According to TZ, the game will take place at the Allianz Arena.
For now the opponent is unknown, though facing RB Leipzig, who are also in the Champions League, is the most logical solution.
Bayern are 3-0 up from their first leg win over Chelsea and should ease into the quarter-finals in Lisbon, where they would face the winner of Barcelona v Napoli on 14 August.
