Mikayil Faye is currently one of the hottest prospects at La Masia right now, having raised many eyebrows with his performances for Barça youth.

A centre-back by trade, the Senegalese has become a mainstay at Barça Athletic and is regarded highly by coach Rafa Marquez. In fact, the only reason Faye is yet to make a debut for Barcelona is the presence of another teenage whizkid in the form of Pau Cubarsi.

Many believe Faye will be rewarded next season with a promotion to the first team. However, the youngster’s performances at youth level have not gone unnoticed, with many clubs keeping a close eye on his situation.

Bayern Munich interested in Mika Faye

According to Florian Plettenberg, Bayern Munich are among the clubs keeping close tabs on Mika Faye, looking for a market opportunity to snap up the Barcelona youngster.

Bayern are aware that Faye’s chances of making an impression on the senior side are bleak due to the presence of several first-team stars and Cubarsi.

As such, Bayern are sensing a market opportunity, as they look to convince Faye to ditch Barcelona and in favour of a move to Bavaria.

That is why Bayern have scouted Faye in various youth tournaments throughout this campaign. Bayern are not alone in the pursuit either, with clubs like Juventus and Manchester United also keen on his services.

The report, though, does add that Mika Faye is not an absolute priority for Bayern Munich at the moment.

One would expect the Bavarians to be more serious about someone like Ronald Araujo, whom they were linked to earlier in the year.

Mika Faye, nevertheless, will remain a target for the Bundesliga giants as they look to shore up their ranks in the youth department.
