Xavi Simons will spend the 2024-25 season on loan with RB Leipzig, but it doesn’t stop rumors about his long-term future from surfacing. One Bundesliga side already has the Dutchman lined up to replace their star player next summer.

Sky Sport Germany’s Florian Plettenberg recently reported that Bayern Munich are already focusing on a clear target for 2025. The club’s top priority is to sign either Florian Wirtz or Simons next summer. However, they’ll face competition.

Manchester United was reportedly keen on the player this summer, and it wouldn’t be a surprise if they revisited this file next year to add even more Dutch flavor to their squad following the arrivals of Matthijs de Ligt and Joshua Zirkzee to go with manager Erik ten Hag.

Still, there’s another German club keen on the player as Bild Sport reports that Bayer Leverkusen are keeping an eye on Simons and might make a move for him next summer.

Manager Xabi Alonso even reached out to Simons this summer to share his vision with him. A possible transfer of Florian Wirtz next summer could help fund the deal.

During his loan spell at RB Leipzig, Simons made a significant impact, featuring in 43 matches across all competitions, scoring 10 goals and registering 15 assists.
