In a recent report, AS claimed that Bayern Munich left-back Alphonso Davies is determined to join Real Madrid this summer. It has been stated that the Canada international wants to seal a move to join Los Blancos later this year.

Davies’ Impressive Form In Bundesliga This Season

Davies has enjoyed a good run of form at the Allianz Arena as he has put in a series of solid performances on the left side of their backline. The Canadian talent has been involved in 31 matches for Bayern this season, scoring one goal and grabbing three assists in all competitions.

The 23-year-old has been a reliable performer on the left flank based on his average of 1.7 tackles, 1.0 interceptions, 1.3 clearances, 1.4 key passes and 2.8 dribbles per 90 minutes in the Bundesliga. He has even been tidy when distributing the ball from the back after making 89.4% of his attempted passes in top-flight football (stats via whoscored).

His current contract at the Bavarian club will run out in the summer of 2025 which could clear the way for Real Madrid to sign him on a cut-price deal this summer.

Should Real Madrid Get Davies On Board?

Davies is a tough-tackling full-back who can make some important interceptions at the back. He doesn’t hesitate to clear his lines when needed and can even deliver some dangerous crosses into the opponent’s penalty box.

The Canadian left-back is a good dribbler with the ball and has got the pace to get in behind the opponent’s backline. He can even shoot the ball accurately from long range but needs to improve his productivity in the final third.

We can expect Davies to enhance the quality of Real Madrid‘s first XI. He has what it takes to ensure a regular starting role at the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium in the coming seasons.

At 23, Davies will only get better as he matures as a football. Hence, Los Blancos boss Carlo Ancelotti would be wise to go all out to bring the Canadian defensive ace to the Spanish capital in the upcoming transfer period.
