Bayern Munich are the latest European club to register interest in highly sought-after Atalanta sensation Rasmus Hojlund.

According to TuttoMercatoWeb, the German champions have already contacted the player’s camp, looking to beat the competition in the race for his signature.

Bayern lost their second all-time highest goalscorer Robert Lewandowski in a €50 million transfer to Spanish giants Barcelona last summer.

They struggled to replace the Pole and have since had to rely on striker Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting who has netted 17 goals and four assists in 26 games.

Despite the exploits of the former Stoke City and Paris Saint-Germain striker, Die Roten are still looking to sign a long-term successor to Lewandowski.

Sadio Mane joined from Liverpool last summer and has led the line for the Bavarians at times, but the Senegalese forward favours his more accustomed left-wing role.

Bayern hold a long-term interest in wantaway Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane, but they will face competition from Premier League giants Manchester United for his signature.

Kane has spent his entire career in the pyramid of English football and may favour a Premier League stay over moving abroad despite the allure of the revered Allianz Arena.

The Atalanta striker has caught the eye this season with seven goals and two assists in Serie A, with a further five in two games with the Danish national team in the 2024 European Championship qualifiers.

La Dea would rather keep the 20-year-old for at least one more season to continue his development under manager Gian Piero Gasperini, but a €50m offer could prove too good to turn down this summer.

Hojlund, often likened to Manchester City’s Erling Braut Haaland, has a very high ceiling in terms of his development but already possesses the skill to become a top striker.

The youngster is already in the process of changing agents amid growing interest in his services and will be represented by Fali Ramadani, who also has Bayern forward Leroy Sane as a client.

Bayern will face competition to sign him from several European giants, including Real Madrid, Juventus, Arsenal, and Newcastle United.
