Bayern Munich ‘intensify talks’ to sign Athletic Club star | OneFootball

German heavyweights Bayern Munich have ramped up efforts to land a key member of the attacking ranks at La Liga outfit Athletic Club this summer.

That’s according to transfer insider Florian Plettenberg, who points towards Nico Williams as the player in question.

Bayern, it is widely understood, are on the hunt for reinforcements out wide with a view to next season.

Amid ongoing uncertainty surrounding the futures of both Leroy Sané and Kingsley Coman, the Bavarians are scouring the market for fresh blood in the final third.

The first-choice target on the part of Vincent Kompany and his staff was Paris Saint-Germain standout Bradley Barcola.

Amid difficulties in convincing PSG of the merits of a sale, though, Bayern have now shifted focus towards the aforementioned Nico.

As per a report from Florian Plettenberg of Sky Germany:

‘FC Bayern have intensified talks over Nico Williams in recent days. There have been meetings and discussions.’

Significantly, it is added that the Athletic Club standout ‘can very well imagine a move to Bayern’.
