Bayern Munich have no intention of selling Dayot Upamecano

Kicker report that Bayern Munich have no intention of selling Dayot Upamecano in the summer despite the player’s contract expiring in 2026. This is the case even if they can’t reach an agreement for an extension beyond the player’s current deal.

Manuel Neuer, Alphonso Davies, Joshua Kimmich and Jamal Musiala have all signed contract extensions with Bayern in 2025, but they are yet to agree terms with French defender Upamecano.

As reported in February, Upamecano wants a release clause in his contract, which was granted to both Kimmich and Harry Kane, but Bayern tend to avoid including exit clauses in contracts.

With the pending arrival of Jonathan Tah from Bayer Leverkusen, the tendency is that Vincent Kompany will start Upamecano alongside the German next season, meaning selling Kim Min-jae would be more conceivable, while Hiroki Ito completes his comeback.

The only way that Bayern Munich would allow Upamecano to leave – with Paris-Saint Germain interested – is if they find a world class replacement.
