With Ousmane Dembele’s contract situation at Barcelona yet to reach a resolution, clubs from across Europe are starting to circle as they hope to sign him up on a Bosman deal in the summer.

The Frenchman’s current contract with the Blaugrana stands to run out on June 30. Talks over an extension have not reached a fruitful conclusion as of yet. And even though fresh meetings are set to take place, there is a growing sense of pessimism over the chances of him signing a new deal.

Should the 25-year-old not pen a new deal, he will become a free agent in the summer and several clubs are hoping to swoop in for the 2018 FIFA World Cup winner. PSG have held a long-standing interest in Dembele, while there have been links to the Premier League as well.

And the latest team to enter the picture for his signing are Bayern Munich. The German giants are sweating over the future of their ace goalscorer Robert Lewandowski, while Serge Gnabry’s contract situation has also raised some alarms at the Allianz Arena.

As a result, the Bayern chiefs are looking for attacking reinforcements in the market, with Dembele emerging as an option. And, as per French publication L’Equipe, the Bundesliga champions have already opened talks with the 25-year-old’s camp over a summer move.

Dembele has tasted success in Bundesliga in the past, having enjoyed a brilliant campaign with Borussia Dortmund in 2016/17, which earned him his big-money move to Barcelona.

And, Bayern are hoping to take him back to Germany with the belief that he can realise his full potential and grow into a top star. The Bavarian giants have held an interest in Dembele since the January window and are planning to launch a fresh attempt in the summer.

The report adds that Bayern Munich manager Julian Nagelsmann, director Hasan Salihamidzic and chairman Oliver Kahn are all admirers of the Barcelona winger. The German giants have also noticed that he has not had any injury problems in the second half of the season.

It is further claimed that Bayern Munich are planning to offer Dembele a four-year contract worth around €18 million per year, as they look to capitalise on Barcelona’s poor financial health. Whether they can convince the French international to make the switch remains to be seen.
