As reported by Abendzeitung, Bayern Munich have a “realistic chance” of signing Florian Wirtz this summer.
The world talent’s current contract with Bayer Leverkusen keeps him at the club until June 2027, but it’s expected he’ll leave after the World Cup in 2026. B04 is confident in keeping the 21-year-old until then, and they’ll demand around €140m for Wirtz when the time comes.
Of course, several clubs, including Real Madrid, Manchester City, and Bayern Munich, have been monitoring Wirtz for some time.
However, it’s Bayern who appear most confident right now and will try to sign Wirtz this summer rather than wait.
Bayern are currently working in the background, trying to get everything in place for a move this summer.
Bayern bosses’ first priority is to convince Wirtz to relocate to Bavaria this summer. Currently, the player is very settled in Leverkusen and enjoying his football under head coach Xabi Alonso.
In terms of finances, Bayern are confident they can fund the deal and even sign Wirtz for under the original asking price of €140m.
Bayern will be offloading a range of players in the summer, including Kingsley Coman, Sacha Boey, and more.
