It is no secret that Real Madrid are in the market for a left-back and in that regard, they have rejuvenated their interest in Bayern Munich full-back Alphonso Davies.
Knowing Real Madrid’s intention, Bayern are on high alert as losing their first-team player would pose a big problem.
In case the Canadian does end up leaving, the team from Germany would need a luxury purchase and TuttoMercatoWeb has reported that the German champions have identified Milan left-back Theo Hernandez as a potential replacement.
The only issue is that the price of Theo Hernandez is very high, potentially rising to €100 million. This is mostly because the 25-year-old is one of the finest players in his position and several top European teams are interested in his acquisition.
Hernandez’s tenure at Milan has been extremely fruitful. The former Real Madrid full-back joined the Serie A team in July 2019 and in his four seasons with the team, he has played more than 160 matches across all competitions.
A mainstay in Milan’s starting XI, the 25-year-old is a fan favourite. Furthermore, he only renewed his deal until 2026 in February last year post which he inherited the role of the team’s vice-captain. This means the probability of him leaving Milan in the summer is extremely low.
It could thus end up affecting Real Madrid’s pursuit of Davies. Even though Carlo Ancelotti confirmed that Fran Garcia will be arriving at the club this summer, Los Blancos are eyeing another top left-back.
This is because of the unreliable nature of Ferland Mendy, who has struggled with form and fitness this season. As such, Davies has been identified as a key target.
It bodes well that Bayern are looking out for a possible replacement for him already, although any move for the Canadian left-back will be quite complicated to pull off for Real Madrid.
