A determined first half was enough for Bayern Munich to make light work of Freiburg on Sunday.

Scorers: Coman 12, 85′, Sané 25′

It was one-way traffic at the Allianz Arena as early strikes from the reigning champions forced Freiburg’s backs against the wall.

A bit of help from the wind saw Kingsley Coman open the scoring almost immediately. The Frenchman’s cross from the right wing drifted up and over goalkeeper Noah Atubolu’s far post.

Leroy Sané later hit a personal milestone by netting in his third consecutive Bundesliga match, previously doing so in 2022 and 2015 for Schalke.

The aforementioned duo then combined for what Bayern thought was a third, with Sané rifling the ball in from an incredibly tight angle, but the goal was ruled offside.

The tempo slowed down after the restart yet Freiburg remained far from a likely comeback. The visitors only registered two shots all match (both off target) and 30% possession.

Bayern thought substitute Mathys Tel added a third off the bench, but his tapped effort was ruled out for offside before Leon Goretzka’s shot hit off the post.

Freiburg eventually conceded a third as Coman drove into the box, cut back on his left curled home for a brace.

Thomas Tuchel’s side remain unbeaten and sit third in the table while Freiburg are eighth.
