Bayern Munich convinced Manchester United talks caused Thomas Tuchel snub

Bayern Munich’s board is somehow convinced that Manchester United are responsible for Thomas Tuchel not negotiating with the former for a new deal towards the end of the season.

The Bundesliga giants, who endured a disappointing season in 2023/24, have turned to former Burnley manager Vincent Kompany to take the hot seat in Bavaria in what emerged as a shock development, as per Fabrizio Romano.

It is no secret that there has been uncertainty over Erik ten Hag’s position since the arrival of co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe, who isn’t believed to be keen on the Dutchman for one reason or another.

That said, INEOS have remained tight-lipped on the situation. They have not backed Ten Hag publicly nor have they briefed anything that would jeopardise that.

According to Sports Bild journalist Christian Falk, Bayern Munich’s board believe that Tuchel bowed out of negotiations over a new deal last week because he had already secured the managerial job at United.

For starters, that sounds like complete nonsence because Tuchel has not ‘secured’ the United job. How has he done that when Ten Hag remains manager ahead of today’s FA Cup final?

United may be looking at options should a decision be made to sack Ten Hag, but our understanding is that the club will conduct a season review at the end of the season before an announcement is made.

Ten Hag and the players need to focus on the FA Cup final now. Not Bayern Munich or speculation elsewhere.
