Bayern Munich have confirmed their latest arrival on Thursday as free agent Daley Blind has officially put pen to paper.
The 32-year-old, left Ajax in late December due to frustrations over his playing time and now joins the Bundesliga side until the end of the season.
“I can’t wait to play here. We are now facing the most important part of the season, which is about the titles – and a club like FC Bayern can win any trophy,” said the Netherlands international on the move.
“The hunger for titles here in the club was decisive for my decision. I hope I can use my experience to help the team and I will give my all for Bayern Munich.”
The signing is a boost for Julian Nagelsmann’s side after Lucas Hernandez picked up a serious knee injury during the World Cup.
With over 333 appearances for Ajax (and stints at FC Groningen and Manchester United), Blind brings an amount of expertise which would fill the vacant spot in defence with ease.
He will now join his new team and attend the club’s training camp in Doha on Friday.
