Bayern Munich CEO Oliver Kahn has confirmed that defender Niklas Süle will leave the club in the summer.
The 26-year-old’s contract expires in June and discussions had been reported to have been taking place for months but it has now been confirmed that an agreement had not been reached.
Speaking at a press conference on Wednesday, Kahn stated: “He (Süle) did not accept our offer.
“We have a certain responsibility for the offers we make. It’s normal to not always get together in this business.”
The centre-back has been at the Allianz Arena since making the move from Hoffenheim for a reported €20m fee in July 2017.
He has made over 150 appearances for the club and has enjoyed a period of success in Bavaria, winning the Bundesliga on four occasions and the Champions League in 2020.
But Süle’s time is there is now coming to an end and he will be seeking a new challenge after rejecting the offer to renew terms at the club.
