Bayern Munich have announced that Hansi Flick has been appointed as the club’s coach on a permanent basis.
The 55-year-old took over at the Allianz Arena in November on an interim basis after the German giants sacked Niko Kovac following a poor start to the season.

Flick has impressed enough since taking over that he has been handed the job on a full-time basis, penning a contract until 2023.
“I look forward to tackling the upcoming tasks together with my coaching staff and the team,” Flick told Bayern’s website after the announcement.
“The conversations I’ve had with the board were very good and evidenced the mutual trust that exists between us.
“Together, we have defined the direction we want to take in the coming years and I’m sure that we can achieve a lot together.”
Flick, who was a decorated player at the club during a five-year spell in the 1980s, was the natural choice for the job according to chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge.
“The club are very happy with his work. The team has developed very well under him and are playing attractive football which is reflected in the results,” Rummenigge stated.
“We are the only German club who still have a chance at winning three competitions. I like the way he leads the team and he has great human qualities.
“The club trust him and we are convinced that he will help us achieve our goals for the future.”
