Bayern Munich are once again tracking the progress of Chelsea winger Callum Hudson-Odoi.

The German champions chased the 19-year-old after his first team breakthrough at Stamford Bridge and had a £40m offer turned down in January 2019.

Hudson-Odoi then opted to sign a new deal to stay at Chelsea, tying him to the club until 2024.

Since then, though, his situation has changed. A long-term Achilles injury kept the winger out of action from April to September 2019 and he made just seven Premier League starts during Frank Lampard’s first season in charge.

Willian and Pedro have since left the club but Hudson-Odoi is no closer to a starting spot. The form of Christian Pulisic late last season makes him a guaranteed starter when fit, while new signings Kai Havertz, Hakim Ziyech and Timo Werner will all be key this season.

Even with Pulisic and Ziyech missing, Hudson-Odoi was limited to 10 minutes in Monday’s season opener against Brighton.

According to Sky in Germany, Bayern’s interest has now been rekindled. The German champions are looking for depth on the wings after Ivan Perisić returned to Inter.

The report claims Bayern would be interested in a loan deal with an option to buy the Englishman but that Juventus and RB Leipzig have also shown an interest.
