This match was marked on everyone’s calendars, but we don’t think many expected things to go this way.
After 45 minutes of play, Bayern Munich currently hold a thumping 5-0 lead over Bayer Leverkusen – who were said to be their toughest test this season.
Star-man Robert Lewandowski got the party started with a stunning back-heel flick just three minutes in.
Are we surprised he scored? Maybe not. But the goal was pure class from the Polish international.
Lewandowski eventually scored again and then the floodgates opened for the visitors.
Thomas Müller made it 3-0 before Serge Gnabry hit two in two minutes.
And, this dominant first-half performance stirred up a pretty interesting stat for the current Bundesliga champions.
It’s the first time in 958 away league matches that they have held a 5-0 lead at the break.
Can they do more damage in the second half?
